New Wiccan Member here! Hello everybody.
Hi all.
Italian wiccan soon relocating to Spain.
Looking to hear from more experienced people on this path if possible, my facebook is andrea zorzutto, my skype bearazor.
Feel free to add me and chat me. I'm quite new to the neopaganism and wicca in particular. Studied esoterism from 20 years more or less now... Quite into psychisms, sprit world and clairvoyance.

Wondering if into wiccan bears I can get new friends :D

Hey all, my name is Liam am new to livejournal.  I live in the UK, have been a practising pagan for the last six years in a shamanistic style of witchcraft.  I'm interested in finding out more about queer mysteries in Paganism.  Have heard of the Minoan Brotherhood, I wonder if there are any other groups out there?  Am happy to chat about Paganism, witchcraft, life in general :)  All the best. Visualization help
If your having problems visualizing yourself when your working away or out of your normal reality, project to that place and then, look at your hand. Have no other reason to be there but to just sit and look and adjust.

Your hand, is part of you that you see all the time, great focus object, keep working on that or coming back to it if you loose focus. Then look at other parts of you, and then start to look around close to you. Keep looking, a little further.

And go where YOU want to be, even if can't see it, then see the darkness, find yourself and then look around. Create a light if you need. If your not where you expect and it's not acceptable, wave your hand slowly, look to where you want to be, and in that vision see it then pull yourself into that place, as though a tunnel.

This is something that I have been able to teach just about everyone I have tried to and they were able to make it work for them to some extent. The trick of making this work is how well you can see within yourself.

First, these are not like the shields you see most of the Wiccans I know that anchor to physical things or points and fill in the lines. Truth be told, those have never hindered me from seeing in or passing though when I am far-seeing or working in other ways. I think you will see why these can be stronger.

First, some basic understanding of who you are is needed. We all form internal barriers to protect ourselves, there are layers, we let some folks know some levels of who we are, others know us deeper, and others even closer. Then there's what is past that which only we see, and past that things we try to hide from ourselves. And then there's what we DO hide from ourselves. There are usually a few layers beyond those too.

The exercise, and yea, it's going to take energy. Find your connection, where ever you can draw from, many of us touch the earth, feeling to flow from our feet, others the air, or other force, what ever works for you, but get calm and in touch with that energy.

Next, close your eyes and breath calmly. Now, look inside, see those layers protecting you, shells within shells, see the outer layer, see the texture, is it smooth, rough, hard or soft, resilient or crystalline? Then, move to the next layer. Same thing, and keep going as deep as you can. When you get to a layer you can't get past, study it. This is a protective shell you have made to protect YOU. Now, see it as a sphere. And take a breath and blow out, as you do see the layer of the sphere enlarge and also stay in place, creating a new layer, this one you can see though as it no longer protects that part you can not see. Breath again and expand it more. Grow it until it expands beyond the inside of you and surrounds you.

Now calmly, drawing on your energy source, keep expanding it until it surrounds what you want to protect, usually your home. let it conform to your space if it hit's someone else's home or appartment.

This takes concentration. A bit of your mind must keep in touch with this to keep it up and in place. With practice you can let it go for a day, then longer and longer and it will stay in place. Practice!!!

To purify the inside, visualize it filling with water, this is your energy, pushing out things that would harm or hinder you. fill it up, you can breath it for this is the energy that sustains you. Once full, you can let the water flow away for the area is clean.

Now, the kind of protections each come with vulnerabilities. If they are hard, they can be cracked, if crystal, shattered, if liquid they can be moved though.

Once you have gotten to the point where you can put up and maintain a shield, you can start to modify it, make it more dynamic. You can make them that just surround you a bit form your skin to go places with you into hostile places.

My personal shield is like a thick gel, it is usually clear, but if something hits it hard it bounces off, someone attacks slow, I can tell and surround the attack or attacker and seal them off from their energy source so they have to use their personal energy and they usually weaken pretty quick.

If you use a mirrored surface, it can reflect attacks well.

And, you can stack them, and with practice, blend them and let them flow so you have many layers with different strengths and weaknesses. If you do this, it is nearly impossible to get though as one if breached, another push them away. Someone has to be very determined to get though it.

Oh, and about making things inside invisible don't let it go too long, beasts that live in the world unseen bounce on it and then wonder what it is, and they start to gather around. It becomes obvious something is there and draws attention. Likewise, sticky shields..

So, I hope that works for folks.

I am new to this group, so I thought I would post a hello.

One of the things about the word Pagan is it has a very wide useage and many people that fall into those useages. Depending on where you stand, based on websters even Christians can be considered pagan. First entry in Websters "heathen: a person who does not acknowledge your god".

Thing is, most of us would realize that we are pretty much all looking to the same power, just from different points of view.

I think that most of us also think that there are things in this world that most seem to not believe or see, but that are there. This is not true for all I know, but for many of us.

About me. I do not seem to follow any tradition I have heard, but barrow from many. Few were learned in this life, and those were taught to me when I asked for help. Most of what I know from from being in touch with my pasts. One person that watched me work told me I did things no one does or has done for a very long time, and that there are other things that I am totally missing that others do. I do not set a time aside to prey or worship for these are part of life. I very very rarely use any artifice in my practice, but understand their importance and part of ritual.

When I was young I used far-sight instinctively. Seeing locations in advance, even remember a few times I found parking spots for my folks, told them where to turn and what color cars to look for. Like most, I have learned to much and the child's mind is gone and I am not as accurate now but still use far-sight.

The first spirit I spoke with was brother Bay (Southern Red Bay to be exact). I was 12 and Bay appeared as I tasted my first fresh bay leaf tea (Southern Red Bay is a good medicinal for upset stomach, mild, decent tasting and effective if made from fresh leaves, you may want to sweeten it). Mostly I spoke with plants, it took years before I saw the animals that were waiting in the wings until I called. When I need help with healing I ask my plant brothers, when I need help with the rest of the world I ask advice from the rest.

For the most part when I speak with the spirits I speak to the representative whole spirit, not a singular spirit, which I have been told is unusual. I can speak to the individual spirits when I want, but those are not my advisers but those I ask to do something for me, usually to watch someone. I don't usually ask them to effect things, to me, that would be my job, the spirits are here to guide, teach, inform and do what they need to do, not what I can do.

I also am..pretty good with shields. Few have gotten through the ones I have put up, none by accident. The 2 that have didn't do well, nor did they leave until I let them.

I have rambled far beyond what I had planned. I know here and there it seems to fit one way or another, but I am just hitting the high points. In many ways I am just an assortment of my pasts that hasn't been tuned out and combined with the perceptions of this life. At some point I learned to talk to some of those individual pasts to different degrees. And there is a different post.

a Short Message from Aquarian Tabernacle Church
To Our Pagan Community,

We have been made aware that a clear and present danger hangs over the head of Sen. Barrack Obama. Unfortunately, we still live a country where many are taught to hate and fear others based on nothing more than the hue of their skin. Our community mobilizes all the time to send healing and protection to others, and we hope you will join us in a multi-faith magickal effort to keep Barrack Obama--and his family--safe from harm as he transitions into the role of our President.

This is not a campaign to tell you who to vote for. This is about protecting the life of another human being. We live in a society which has been taught to solve its problems with violence and murder. The gravity of this issue was brought to our attention by a Christian man who will be praying to his God, in his way, along with us. We request that the Pagan community, and others who care about life, join us in rituals, spells, and prayers of protection during three separate 24 hour periods:

1) Election night. Sen. Obama will be exposed to danger as he accepts his Presidential role. The majority of assassination attempts worldwide have occurred within thirty minutes of completing a public speech.

2) Yule/Midwinter. For those of us who are Pagan, we know that this is a time of new beginnings, a perfect time to add protection to the man who will be in the White House within the following month. (Our non-Pagan friends may wish to work together at Christmas, Kwanzaa, or Twelfth Night.)

3) Inauguration Day (January 20). Sen. Obama will take the oath of office on the portico of the Capitol Building in front of as many as 250,000+ people. He will then take a car or will walk down Pennsylvania Avenue in his own inaugural parade to the White House. There he and his family will sit outdoors and watch the rest of the parade.

Please use all your networking resources to pass along this request to as many Pagans and Pagan organizations as you can. After that, the momentum will build on its own. Leave no one out! Do not leave out Christians, Jews, or others who may wish to join this effort, assisting us by connecting with the face of the creator they worship. This is not a political issue, it is a value-of-a-single- human-life issue. If the racism situation were reversed, many of us would offer the same lifesaving energy to Sen. McCain. And, when all this is complete, maybe we should start sending love and healing to those people living in blind hatred who created a need for this sort of obilization in the first place. With love to all and harm to none,

Requests for magic
Have you ever had a total stranger come up and ask if you could cast a spell?
how did you resolve it? Did they offer you money? Whats your feeling on the ethics or moralities of such a situation?

Recently, online, some total stranger (who happens to live near me) left messages all over the place requesting a spell caster to perform, a "break them up, bring us back together forever and make her pay" spell. She apparently posted this every where she could, and also explained that she had been cheated by online frauds, and she wanted someone real. No one in the place where I first saw it, even offered, strongyly suggested she do it herself, to which she constantly explained "oh I can't do that, I don't feel competent enough to". It was interesting. I also did not help her, but directed her to somebody who might give her direction. She then thanked me later. I hope what she wants works out for her, but still, kinda makes you wonder.

I would love to hear any response to this. Personal stories would be great!

For the annual Gay Pagan Candlelight Vigil

The Temple of Antinous and his sacred Knights invite all gay pagans and their friends to join us for a Candlelight vigil to honor our gay pagan brothers and sisters who have past from this realm because of Aids, martyrdom from gay bashing and the plague called crystal meth to join us for a candlelight celebration of hope, meaning, and compassion. Antinous the God of Homosexuality who died on October 24th 130 C.E. and became the last pagan God. Antinous is the God of healing and the arts. If ever the Gay community needed a God it is now. We will meet on the north east corner of Crescent Heights and Santa Monica blvd next to the aids memorial at 7:00 P.M. and will walk to West Hollywood Park in Honor of the loved ones we have lost to the three plagues.

Bring a Candle and an open heart and join us on this journey of healing and hope

For more information about the temple of Antinous go to

PS to those I told it was on the 24th, I was informed today that it is now on the 28. So, mark you calendars if you desire to go.

Harvest Moon
I love the full moon. Its wonderful. Because its September, this moon is called the Harvest Moon. After the equinox on September 23, its now officially fall, and you can bet it will get more darkness and colder, even in fabulous SoCal, where it is always sunny (unless there is mudslides, then not so much).

I hope everyone has a blessed September!

The government is trying to limit us again
For those of who you may not know, the federal government is currently in the processing of approving some changes that may drastically affect how adults can meet and interact online. while the sample letter I have pasted here below is from the Gay and Lesbian taskforce, this has the potentially to affect all of us who enjoy using meeting sites to pornagraphic sites.

I am copy and pasting this sample letter because I found I was unable to do it easily from thier site, so I am making it possible here.

Re: Section 2257 Docket No. CRM 104
To the U.S. Department of Justice:
I am writing to object to the proposed “Section 2257” regulations.
These regulations are complicated and burdensome on legitimate businesses, and have very little to do with protecting children and minors from pornography. Their reach — particularly into adult social-networking internet services — is overbroad, unnecessary, and would allow the federal government to search and seize personal records of adult consumers without a warrant; a clear violation privacy and constitutional rights.
Specifically, I object to the following provisions:
1. The regulations (18 § 2257(b)(1) and (c)) would force adult social-networking services to obtain and maintain personal information about their users, including the user's photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID). (I must note that the sites already require users to affirm that they are over 18 years of age.) Many sites have tens of thousands of users and it is simply not possible for them to do this. Moreover, many people who use these sites want to maintain their privacy, for any number of reasons, including the sad fact that they might face discrimination and/or violence if others found out they were using these sites. It is still legal in 31 states to discriminate against someone who is gay or bisexual, and in 41 states if the person is transgender. The combination of the recordkeeping requirements and many users’ fears about providing such information will kill the entire industry.
All of this is overkill given that adult social networking sites were not identified as a problem in the production, distribution and downloading of child pornography in the Department of Justice’s own report on “Child Pornography on the Internet” (May 2006).
2. The regulations (18 § 2257(g) and under 28 C.F.R. § 75.5) would allow the Attorney General to conduct unannounced warrantless searches at will on the sites’ records, including reviewing and presumably seizing the personal information on site users. This is an egregious abuse of government authority, an unwarranted invasion of privacy and, in my opinion, a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
3. The regulations (28 C.F.R. § 75.5(4)) provide insufficient safeguards over what the government can do with the information it obtains through its searches. This, by itself, has a chilling effect on the ability of people to engage in constitutionally protected activities. As noted above, this is particularly dangerous for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
Let me be clear: I believe children need to be protected from coercion into pornography and it is important for the federal government to do all that it can to insure those protections. Sadly, many of the provisions of the proposed 2257 regulations do nothing to address child pornography, but instead are clearly aiming at destroying an industry and ending a legal and valuable way for adults to meet one another.
Sincerely, (your name)

to join or not to join
I find this is an issue coming up for me
I am in a position where I wish to belong more closely to some people and a group and part of that means joining thier tradition. I am unsure. I have been solitary since I first started picking up things, and I am pretty well read (at least, most people seem impressed) but I just don't know. Some of the suggested requirements are easy (like reading a book, familiarizing yourself with some of thier practices and interests) others are harder. Like the idea of doing a ritual in a certain proscribed way, or having to follow the set structure. One that really has me going in circles is the request to get a black handled athame. Now, I am sure you wonder, how hard is that. Well, I have an athame. It isn't black handled, but it is an athame and its mine. It was the first tool I ever got and I used to sleep with it under my bed forever. Its the only tool I don't have multiples of (like wands, chalices and pentacles etc...) and I feel wrong about getting another. I am curious to hear what anybody else feels in relation to joining a group vs solitary dynamics, or being involved but separate.
